By using trekkingpartnersnepal.com (the "site") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What the site is

Trekking Partners Nepal is a noticeboard where trekkers can post planned treks and find others to join them. For partner posts, we are not a tour operator, travel agent or guide service. We do not organise, check or supervise treks that users post, and we do not verify users' identity, experience, fitness or intentions.

Separately, the site may list fixed-departure guided treks. These are operated by a licensed Nepali trekking company, named on each departure, under its own booking terms.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms. One account per person, and the information in your profile must be true.

3. Meeting other trekkers: your responsibility

Trekking with people you've met online carries real risks. You alone decide whom to meet and trek with, and you do so at your own risk. Please read our safety advice and follow common sense:

• Meet first in a public place in Kathmandu or Pokhara before setting off.
• Tell someone you trust your route, dates and who you're walking with.
• Get travel insurance that covers trekking at your planned altitude, including helicopter rescue.
• Follow Nepal's trekking rules, including any requirement to trek with a licensed guide in certain areas.
• Never send money to someone you haven't met.

4. Content rules

You are responsible for what you post. Don't post anything that:

• is false, misleading, or impersonates someone else;
• harasses, threatens, discriminates against or sexualises anyone;
• advertises commercial services (guides, agencies, gear) without our permission;
• contains spam, scams or links to harmful sites;
• shares someone else's personal information without their consent;
• breaks the law in Nepal or your home country.

You keep ownership of what you post, but you give us permission to display it on the site and in search results while it remains published.

5. Moderation

Anyone can report a post, comment or user. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, at our discretion and without notice. We are not obliged to monitor everything posted.

6. No guarantees

The site is provided "as is". We try to keep it running and accurate but can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that you will find a partner. Trail, weather and permit information on the site is general guidance only; check current conditions yourself.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Trekking Partners Nepal is not liable for any loss, injury, illness, theft, damage or dispute arising from your use of the site or from meeting or trekking with other users. Your dealings with other users are solely between you and them.

8. Closing your account

You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the changes.
